The Center is proud to announce that for summer 2023 and for the 2023-24 academic year we were able to award the largest number Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowships to date–14 awards! Our fellows represent schools and departments across campus including the School of Marine and Environmental Affairs, Art History, the Law School.Summer intensive language study. Grants provide ~$2,500 in stipend and full tuition (up to $5,000) for approved intensive summer language courses in the US or abroad. An academic year course of study that includes both language and area studies courses. Academic year grants for graduate students provide ~$15,000 in stipend plus full tuition and ...
